XOIR

XOIR: Collective voice, breath, and intention. Singing to Call in Light on the Solstice.

Don't miss the ultimate synthesis of sound and light on the longest night. Acclaimed composer and sound alchemist Colin Self (NYC/Berlin) brings their transcendental XOIR to METHOD for a free, immersive session. This isn't a performance; it’s a communal, improvisational ritual to set intentions and conjure light, amplified by the ambient saxophone textures of Morgan O. and surrounded by a commissioned, site-specific light installation by glass visionary Kait Rhoads. Free Admission, but spaces are extremely limited. This is high-leverage, non-commercial art—be part of the collective experience.

About the Artists

Colin Self is an artist, composer, and puppeteer based between Brooklyn and Berlin. Self creates music and performances that explore new systems for engaging with the human spirit, often revolving around the temporary assembly of communities. They have been running XOIR since 2013 and co-founded TIAPS, a performance school, in 2023. Their recent commissions include Where The Souls Go (2024), commissioned by the New Theater Hollywood, and the opera Tip the Ivy (2022). Their third LP, respite ∞ levity for the nameless ghost in crisis, was released in February 2025 on RVNG Int.

Morgan O is a contemporary Seattle-based saxophonist who has established a unique, experimental voice within the local scene. Her practice is deeply rooted in improvisation, deep listening, and collaboration, often resulting in immersive sonic landscapes. She is celebrated for weaving haunting saxophone melodies with electronic sounds, drones, and ambient textures, creating evocative waves of sound. She actively collaborates with other artists, pushing the boundaries of traditional performance to forge atmospheric and boundary-defying works.

Kait Rhoads is a Seattle-based glass artist who creates complex, woven sculptures and installations. Her work is profoundly inspired by aquatic life, often translating the growth systems of coral colonies and kelp forests into structural forms, viewing her method of weaving a whole as a mirror of both organic growth and self-formation.
